Sales Operations & RMA Coordinator

Karen is the Sales Operations & RMA Coordinator at CoolIT Systems. Karen focuses on processing customer POs, sales order entries and management, RMAs, and communicating with Business Development, Supply Chain team and customers. Like many other employees at CoolIT, Karen first learned about a position with us from a fellow employee and friend! What Karen most enjoys about her role is getting to work with the various groups and departments. She also loves learning from everyone and understanding how all the departments flow together.

After Karen graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, she jumped into her very first job at a before and after school program; she worked there for about 4 years. Karen started working with kindergarteners and then started working with kids from grades 1 – 6. At here time with the school program, Karen became more involved with program planning, facilitating activities, and field trip planning. Eventually she became a Co-Coordinator at one of the program facilities. During her time there she had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of people, and families from all walks of life. Karen describes this as a very memorable and positive experience in her life. She then worked at a commercial flooring company for about 8 years where she started in the accounting department as the Accounting Assistant and then moved into a Project Coordinator position. In this company Karen became more familiar with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes while learning to work in a fast-paced environment.

Outside of work Karen loves to get out in nature and go hiking while she also enjoys baking and eating! Karen enjoys eating all kinds of foods and likes to try out new places to eat and support local restaurants. When we asked Karen what historical event she would like to witness, she noted “I kind of wish I asked my grandparents more about how they grew up, and learn more about what they have been through.”
