Director of Advanced Technology

Meet our Director of Advanced Technology, Cam Turner. Cam has been with CoolIT for five years and has provided crucial value to the team since joining. His role started in 2013 as Project Manager and then Software Developer in Engineering. For a short period, he pivoted to manage an engineering team at another company but having stayed in contact with CoolIT members, another opportunity presented itself for Cam to rejoin our team. Cam said, “I always believed CoolIT was in a great place to make an impact in the world by helping to reduce energy consumption in data centers.” Since then, he has been leading his team into the future of data center designs. One of Cam’s favorite aspects of his role is the amazing team he gets to work with!

Cam holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary. On top of this, Cam has a P.Eng designation with APEGA. Before working at CoolIT, Cam was an Embedded Software Developer and managed a product development team at Mentor Engineering. They designed and manufactured mobile data terminals for transit industries (Taxi, Buses, Ambulance, etc.).

At home, Cam is a busy father while he focuses on helping his kids pursue their hobbies and dreams. He enjoys getting out to the mountains for any activity especially hiking and mountain biking! Cam is a big fan of the Grizzly Paw Brewery in Canmore, AB as one of his favorite places to eat with some of the best burgers around.
