The ISC High Performance conference is a renowned event that focuses on cutting-edge developments in high-performance computing (HPC), networking, storage, and other related technologies. It brings together industry experts, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to discuss the latest trends and advancements in the field of HPC.
At this year’s conference, CoolIT Systems, a leading provider of innovative cooling solutions, will showcase our latest cooling solutions designed specifically for HPC applications. Attendees can expect to learn about CoolIt’s advanced cooling techniques, such as liquid cooling systems and direct liquid cooling, which enable efficient heat removal and enhanced performance for HPC workloads. Additionally, our experts will deliver presentations and engage in discussions, sharing their expertise on how to achieve optimal cooling strategies in data centers to maximize computational capabilities.
Speaker: Sawyer Pahl
Topic: How should HPC and the power efficient data center team-up?
We’ve entered the Exascale era, where HPC racks are exceeding 100KW, and the racks that get us to Zettascale will be even hotter. In both enterprise and HPC environments, average rack density has been steadily increasing over the past 10 years. Data Centers are producing more heat and consuming more power. However, HPC data centers are trending towards an impractical power requirement. So, Moore’s Law, the Power Efficiency of the chip, chip packaging, rack density, all need to improve in tandem. This presentation will explore current power requirements and the heat that our HPC systems produce and the money data centers are saving with direct liquid cooling.
