CoolIT Systems Joins the Liquid Cooling Coalition (LCC)

CoolIT Systems is delighted to join the Liquid Cooling Coalition (LCC) as a founding member. This coalition is dedicated to advancing the widespread adoption of liquid cooling technologies and promoting a sustainable future for data centers. We are proud to be a part of this important initiative.

CoolIT has championed data center liquid cooling for years, emphasizing its significant energy efficiency and sustainability advantages. We expect the LCC to amplify these messages in its mission to advocate the benefits of liquid cooling with policymakers, the data center industry, and the public at large.

The LCC’s mission is threefold:

• Educate policymakers and the public about the environmental, energy, economic, and security benefits of liquid cooling,
• Advocate for policies that support its broader adoption, and
• Coordinate industry stakeholders across the industry to implement liquid cooling solutions.

A crucial part of CoolIT Systems’ work has been to help the industry overcome “data center hydrophobia“—the hesitation or fear of using liquid cooling—and embrace liquid cooling’s superior performance and greater sustainability advantages. By joining forces with the LCC, we aim to see liquid cooling more broadly understood and adopted.

As artificial intelligence (AI) advances, liquid cooling is no longer optional. High heat flux AI chips can no longer operate with air cooling alone. While direct liquid cooling (DLC) is a necessity, reduced power consumption can be an additional benefit. Through our efforts and that of the LCC, we also hope to show how DLC systems can effectively capture waste heat for reuse, such as for heating nearby commercial and residential buildings or greenhouses.
